Terminal Operator


The purpose of the Terminal Operator is to assist the Terminal Manager with the receiving of products and the fulfillment of customer orders. This position will be required to maintain terminal operations in the absence of the Terminal Manager. You will be required to work as a team to ensure high quality asphalt products are safely sold to customers while providing a high level of customer service. This position reports directly to the Terminal Manager.
 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely load and unload tankers
  • Certify product to meet Department of Transportation Specifications
  • Perform data entry, create Bill of Ladings and other administrative reports
  • Accurately perform inventory management functions
  • Attend and participate in meetings and training
  • Support, deliver and maintain the Blacklidge brand promise of Performance Reliability
  • Comply with good housekeeping practices
  • Comply with all internal and external policies and procedures
  • Support and maintain company values
  • Must perform all tasks safely
  • All other duties as assigned or needed

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent self-direction while working alone or in a small team
  • Proficient with all office equipment
  • Ability to perform under pressure
  • Good mechanical skills
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Windows Operating System

 

EDUCTION AND EXPERIENCE

  • College preferred, High School Diploma required
  • Experience in asphalt manufacturing a plus

 

ESSENTIAL WORK REQUIREMENTS:

  • Become certified to operate a forklift
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to lift, push and pull 50 pounds
  • Able to perform repetitive body movements
  • Able to withstand extreme weather conditions
  • Able to climb tankers and vertical tanks without fear of height
  • Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

 

It is a requirement to be a U.S. citizen OR have valid proof of authorization to work in the United States. All applicants will be administered a pre-employment drug screen. Blacklidge also randomly tests employees for illegal substances.
