Blacklidge Emulsions, Inc. is searching for a Chief Financial Officer to join its Executive Team in the Atlanta, Georgia office.

Blacklidge is a leading innovator, producer and distributor of asphalt-related performance products that make building great roads easy. Founded in 1990 and based in Gulfport, Mississippi, Blacklidge’s footprint extends across the United States with nine operating facilities, a state-of-art certified testing and development lab and a fleet of tankers transporting high-performance products.

The Company is set for significant internal growth and is actively seeking complimentary acquisition opportunities.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and actively seek opportunities to grow the Company.  They will be responsible for taking on a leadership role in the financial decision-making of the Company, providing strategic financial input while overseeing the overall financing structure and accounting process. This position reports directly to the President & CEO.


  • Provide overall strategic and operational direction to accounting, finance and admin departments
  • Assist the President & CEO with development and execution of the Company’s overall strategic vision
  • Support the business with operational analysis and provide tactical financial support
  • Anticipate business issues and drive decision-making through sound financial management
  • Preparation of periodic financial reports and related analysis
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction and system enhancement
  • Arrange for adequate capital to fund future expansion and potential acquisitions
  • Forecast capital, equipment and staff requirements
  • Evaluate trends and establish critical measurement
  • Manage banking relationships and treasure functions
  • Assist independent accountants with preparation of annual audited financial statements
  • Assist tax accountants with preparation of tax returns and development of tax strategies
  • Preparation of cash flow projections to ensure adequate capital that meets the Company’s needs
  • Lead information technology strategy and oversee information technology systems and infrastructure
  • Oversee human resources administration


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • CPA and MBA preferred
  • 15+ years’ experience, with 5+ years’ experience as a CFO
  • Experience as a CFO for a company with manufacturing and trucking operations
  • Experience with the road construction industry, asphalt products and B2B businesses are all pluses
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting standards and practices, including GAAP reporting
  • Financial management expertise including strategic planning, business modeling, expense control, budgeting, forecasting and business planning
  • Strong cash management skill set
  • Experience in working effectively with bankers and other financial intermediaries
  • Experience with enterprise systems, Dynamics GP experience is a plus
  • Experience with human resources administration and employment law and policies
  • Significant M&A and business development experience preferred
  • Hands-on approach coupled with superior strategic capability and leadership
  • Strong organizational and team building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
